Enviable location on scenic Pentland Hills, on A70, just 35 minutes’ drive west from the heart of Edinburgh.  Escape the city crowds, park your car with ease and enjoy the freedom of self-catering in one of our 4 stone-built, 200 year old, sympathetically converted, traditional and contemporary holiday homes.  Guests are welcome to explore our sheep and livestock farm.

These 3 to 5 STAR properties, graded annually by the Scottish Tourist Board as “of a very good to exceptional standard” offer almost everything you could wish for to make your stay enjoyable.  Relax in front of an open fire, enjoy a video or listen to birdsong.

  • Discover Scotland’s cities, culture and countryside.
  • Edinburgh…exciting, historic, Europe’s festival capital and the most beautiful city in Britain….
  • …and within an hour’s drive, vibrant Glasgow, Rob Roy, Braveheart and Border Country.
  • Museums, galleries, castles, palaces, a huge range of leisure activities, excellent shops….
Whatever the weather, whatever the ages, there’s so much to see and do.  And, come the end of the day, Crosswoodhill’s the perfect place to unwind.

Tempted?

Choose between Midcrosswood, a gem of a cottage one mile distant on the heather-clad moors of the Pentlands, Steading Cottage at the hub of the farm, or a self-contained Wing of our spacious, handsome 200-year-old farmhouse. Midcrosswood sleeps up to five guests, the others up to 6 people each. Our stunning 2005 conversion, Orlege End, is ideal for 3 to 4 people but will sleep more.

You may want to revisit our website, http://www.crosswoodhill.co.uk  to find out more about our area and choose the property which best matches your needs. Detailed descriptions of our 2 stylish, imaginatively designed, detached cottages are there, along with details of Crosswoodhill’s characterful Wing and contemporary, open-plan, sumptuous and surprising Orlege End.  Included are exterior photos and some interior ones.  And to give you a taster of what you can expect, we’ve printed extracts from our Visitors’ Books. Included too is a page of links to useful websites to allow you to plan your holiday from the comfort of an armchair at home.

From payphones to power showers, dishwashers to desirables like a hi-fi, microwave, freezer, tumble dryer, books, games, garden furniture, gadgets and guide books, you’ll find any one of our three properties very thoughtfully equipped. And all this is backed up by our constant care and concern for your enjoyment and relaxation.

Each season is special at Crosswoodhill, but you will find an amazing variation in the tariffs for different times of year.  Choose carefully and you can get yourself a bargain!  Weekly (usually Saturday to Saturday) rates are displayed on our website together with terms and everything you need to know about our booking procedures.
